Mukilteo Farmers Market raises $230 for food bank | Letter

Editor, The Beacon:

October always reminds me of the rich harvest the Northwest enjoys, as pumpkin and squash become serious menu items. The summer is gone, and with it, the 2014 Mukilteo Farmers Market.

Besides providing our tables with local meat, veggies, flowers and more, the market also helped collect over 160 pounds of used batteries for the recycle center. Nearly $230 was collected for the Mukilteo Food Bank, and we recycled many bags with the popular "Need a Bag, Take One" program.
