Kamiak qualifies six for state, Mariner’s Koba makes cut | Girls prep golf


The Kamiak girls golf team qualified for next week’s 4A state tournament, while Mariner will send one after the district championship on Tuesday, May 20.

The district tournament, held at Cedarcrest Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday, saw Kamiak’s Renee Kwak finish with a final score of 155, the leader after playing 18 holes with a par of 70.

Teammate Hannah Lee finished at 171, with Katherine Choi at 172. Simran Handa qualified for state with a 177 score, with teammate Olivia Kim finishing at 180, followed by Shawnna Cabanday at 184.
