Park popularity prompts police popping pyros

Only the first phase of redevelopment has been done at Lighthouse Park, and bids are going out for the second phase in August.

But citizens have already proved it's a success with their continuing visits.

In fact, some might argue, the park is too popular.

Parking is an ongoing problem. Fires outside of fire pits are common.

The city is moving to address those and other issues, with plans to add some teeth to the city's municipal code, new signage, striping and other improvements.
