Rick Steve’s Europe Through the Back Door is hosting free travel classes this September in Edmonds.
• Turkey's Coastal Villages from Istanbul to Bodrum, Thursday, Sept. 2 from 6-7 p.m. at theTravel Center:
In this class, you'll explore the Western coast of Turkey from the bustle of Istanbul to the beauty of Bodrum. Vineyards, olive groves, Gallipoli battlefields, mountain villages, seaside towns, local markets, ancient Troy and other sites make this part of Turkey especially delightful and rich in history.
• Provence & the French Riviera, Saturday, Sept. 4 from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Edmonds Theater:
Go on a fabulous journey through Provence and the French Riviera in this class.
Using the Rick Steves guidebook to these exciting regions as an outline, you'll learn about Provence’s remarkable array of Roman sites, its dynamic cities and its most romantic hill towns.
You’ll also discover the Riviera’s most important sights, its best beaches and learn key lessons in crowd avoidance.
• Digital Photography for Travelers - Level I, Saturday, Sept. 4 from 12-1:30 p.m. at the Travel Center:
Take great travel photos with tips from Patricia Ridenour of Photographic Center Northwest. Learn about composition, lighting, perspective, grabbing the moment, and more.
Ridenour will explain the ins and outs of film versus digital cameras, and help you master your digital camera's features to really capture the magic of your next trip.
The location of all Rick Steves classes are at either the Edmonds Theater, located at 415 Main Street in Edmonds, or Rick Steves' Travel Center Classroom, located at 130 Fourth Ave. N. in Edmonds.
