After a long season finishing third in the rankings, the Squirt Blades defeated the No. 2 seed Everett Grizzlies 2-0 to advance to the championship game against the previously undefeated Kent Tornadoes. The game went to a shootout with the Blades winning the championship by a score of 2-1.
