Knights boys team wins basketball championship

The 7th grade AAU Mukilteo Silver Knights boys basketball team won the Mt. Si Wildcat Classic tournament, held Jan.14-15. The Knights team went 5-0 and won the championship game against a tough Cedarcrest team.

Black Dragons tie for third at state

Turkey Shoot tournament a Mukilteo tradition

The 30th annual Turkey Shoot Tournament was held in Mukilteo Nov. 18-20 for Washington State Youth Soccer Association teams. It is one of the largest recreational soccer tournaments in the Pacific Northwest.

Bill Johnson, a 2005 Kamiak grad, was a pro ball player for ARBA-San Ramon, a Costa Rican team, until the season ended last month. After that, he played professionally for IR-Reykjavik of Iceland.

Mariner’s star running back selected as an All-American athlete

Mariner High School running back Keivarae Russell is one of 80 of the nation’s most talented high school football players selected to play in the nationally televised U.S. Army All-American game in January in San Antonio, Texas.

Kamiak girls swim wins district title

The Kamiak Girls Swim Team won the 4A District Championships held at Kamiak High School on Saturday. Nov. 5. Kamiak won by more than 100 points with a score of 508; runner up was Cascade with a score of 417.

Team visited by Soccer Fairy…

Mukitleo Misfits' Coach Zac Herrin dressed up as the Soccer Fairy to liven up their eighth game Oct. 29 at Explorer Middle School. It was their second game of the season against Marysville Youth Soccer Club's Super Strikers, and another win over them, 14-0. The Soccer Fairy gave everybody at the fields quite a show.

Mariner football beats Jackson, advances to playoffs

The role of playoff dream-killers has reversed this year for Wesco South football. The Mariner Marauders rolled past the Jackson Timberwolves 54-28 on Friday, beating Jackson for the first time in three years.
