The Mariner marching band is one of 33 contestants in the third annual School of the Rock, Battle of the Bands, an event held in conjunction with the Bob Rivers Show on KZOK Radio where high school bands throughout the Puget Sound area are judged on their performance of rock music standards.

The winning band program will receive $10,000, second place gets $5,000, third place gets $2,500 and the fourth through seventh place bands will receive a free pizza party provided by The Rock Wood Fired Pizza.

The Mariner students have submitted a video of them playing the Beatles classic “Hey Jude.”
