Kamiak
DECA Club is maintaining its winning ways, having competed at Area 2
Competition in Shoreline in January.
Out
of a total of 15 students competing, Kamiak maintained its success rate with 12
students placing.
Of
the students who competed, four placed for their second consecutive year.
Those
students include Logan Alden for Technical Sales, who earned 1st place;
Priyanka and Sharmeelee Bijlani for Sports and Entertainment, who also earned
1st place.
Rainey
Rew, who also placed last year, competed with newcomers, Julia Johansson and
Alexandra Young earning 1st place in Fashion Merchandising.
Haley
Hanson impressed by taking 1st place in Retail Merchandising in her first
year.
McKenzie
Strickland and Margarette Bou kept the trend going by earning 1st place in
their BECU Advertising Campaign.
Taking
2nd and giving Kamiak another win were Chelsey Reinkens and Kate Higman.
Coming
home with 3rd place in Technical Sales was Jeremy Hadden.
The
students are now preparing for state competition in March.
DECA
club also is planning a recruiting fashion show in which different occupational
classes will represent what their class is about through various outfits.
Using
this fashion show as a medium, DECA hopes to attract more competitive students
to join Marketing.
