Aug. 31 Public Assist –10700 block SR-525 Officers responded to the location regarding a consumer out of control and refusing to go where staff directed him. Officers stood by while the consumer was guided to a seclusion room by staff members.

Aug. 24 Animal Complaint – 900 block 10th Street A resident reported he found a stray white Poodle. It was transported to PAWS.

 

 

Police beat for week of Aug. 25

Aug. 17 Suspicious Incident – 5000 block 94th St. SW Officers responded to the above apartment regarding a possible burglary in progress. The caller said that she heard a loud bang on the front door and then heard the doorknob being jiggled. She got her seven year old daughter and went to the back bedroom and called 911. Officers found nothing suspicious at the scene and the door was undamaged and secure.

Aug. 10 Vehicle Prowl –12100 block SR-525 An officer responded to the location for a vehicle prowl. A caller had reported that someone had entered her unlocked vehicle and ripped her in-dash GPS unit out of the dashboard. She said that nothing else was missing.

Aug. 3 Suspicious – 4800 block 76th St. SW A complainant reported receiving an e-mail from an unknown person telling him that his bank account had been used by someone. The e-mail had the reporting party’s correct account number and a substantial amount of personal information in it.

July 27 Suspicious – 8100 block 45th Ave. W Suspicious of a male walking in the neighborhood, a resident told police that he was not going to every house and seemed to be going to the front door but not knocking. Officers contacted a subject who was a window washer and was placing business cards on the doors.

July 13 Juvenile Problem – 4500 block HP Blvd. A caller requested contact regarding a juvenile male that she referred to as a “pedophile.” An officer spoke to an 18-year-old male who said he was there to visit a friend. The officer also spoke with the caller’s daughter who said there were no problems. The caller did not answer the door or phone. Suspicious – 4600 block 71st Place SW Concerned about recent burglaries, a caller reported a male and female were wandering through the neighborhood. She said they asked if she knew a certain male. She said they seemed suspicious. An officer checked the area, but they were not located.

June 28 Civil – 7800 Blk 40th Ave West The officer was dispatched to the location for a dispute. The RP said that he had paid for repairs but the business wanted more. He was advised that it was civil. ••• Civil – 13500 Blk Beverly Park Rd R/P reported that he let his daughter use his car but now he wants it back. The officer spoke to the daughter who said that her father had given her the car. However, she agreed to return it.

June 21 DUI blocking collision – 7700 Block SR-525 Veh 1 was N/B on SR-525 at the above location. Veh 2 was S/B at the same location. Veh 1 crossed into the oncoming lane and struck Veh 2 head on. Driver 1 was arrested for DUI. She was transported to Hospital for a blood draw, and treatment. ••• Burg / Theft 3 – 8000 Blk 40 Av W Storage unit broken into between 06-15-2010 and 06-17-2010. A computer monitor was stolen.

May 17 Traffic complaint – HPB and St Andrews Dr The complainants were followed last night after honking and making a hand gesture at another motorist. No assault occurred. They just wanted the police to know of the situation. Parking complaint – 305 Lincoln Ave The officer responded to the above area for a parking complaint and issued a warning.

April 26 Patrol information - 2600 SR 525 School officials called to advise that a 9-year-old male ran off campus on the trail from the school. No police assistance was needed; the school just wanted police aware that staff members were following the child. A short while later the school called back and advised the child returned to school and there were no problems.

April 19 Suspicious 5000 Blk 81st Place SW A neighbor reported seeing a female talking to four subjects in a van. As the female was leaving, she put something in her pocket. The neighbor thought it might be a drug deal. Upon arrival, the van was gone and the female was not located. The officers contacted two subjects in the parking lot. They said that they were there to help a resident move out.

April 12 ID theft 8300 blk 53 Av W Victim's debit account was accessed in Tennessee and Arkansas over the weekend. No one had permission to make those charges. Under investigation. ••• Theft of motor vehicle 5000 blk 84 St SW Victim's vehicle, a gold 93 Infinity, G-20, 4-Dr was stolen between 0100 Hrs and 1500 hrs on April 10, from the above address. •••

April 5 Narcotics Harbour Pt & SR 525 The officer responded to the above area for a report of a teen driver smoking a controlled substance through a pipe. The vehicle was not located. ••• Suspicious 5300 Blk Harbour Pt Blvd R/P had questions about her three-month-old baby's father making inappropriate comments about the girl. She was advised to seek a court order.

March 29 Traffic hazard Dispatch received six calls regarding trees leaning over phone lines and cable transmitters. Verizon was called and responded to take care of the problem. ••• Suspicious incident – 5800 block Chennault Beach Road Homeowner found three workers in her fenced back yard with strange tools. Officer discovered that the tenant had scheduled the workers to pressure wash the roof. There was no problem at the location. •••

 

 

Police Beat, week of March 31

March 22 Theft – 1600 block Highland Terrace Ct. The officer was flagged down by the homeowner regarding the theft of an access device. The incident is possibly related to a domestic assault earlier in the day in which a male was arrested. Case is under investigation.

 

 

Police Beat, week of March 24

March 15 Burglary 2 - 4200 block 78th Street Officer responded to the location building for a vehicle prowl that occurred overnight. Upon arrival it was determined that the fully fenced yard had been entered and the driver’s side window of one of the trucks had been broken out. Nothing was taken.
