July 3, 1860 – The Founding of Mukilteo

Morris Frost and Jacob Fowler had an idea. By late 1858, much of the unrest from the 1855-56 conflict between the native folk and the Americans was cooling. It was clear the Americans were here to stay. From Olympia to Port Townsend, the newcomers looked across the waters of Puget Sound toward a still-thriving native population, and were seeing them once again as more of a good potential customer than a threat.
