Mukiltean earns Special Olympics medal PDF Print E-mail

Mukilteo resident Vicken Ouyarian recently won a fourth place medal at the 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games, which took place Feb. 7-13 Boise, Idaho.  

More than 3,000 athletes from 85 countries competed in seven different Olympic-type sports.
One of 14 Special Olympics Washington athletes, Ouyarian represented Washington state and the United States in the Figure Skating category, where he earned his medal in the Singles competition.

 

“We are so proud of Vicken and all of our Washington state athletes who competed in the 2009 World Winter Games,” said John Borgognoni, Vice President Sports and Programs for Special Olympics Washington.  “The 14 athletes from Washington state exhibited an immense amount of hard work and dedication throughout the games and most importantly they had fun.”
