Few people can honestly say they were present during the birth of a revolution, however; those lucky people that attended last year’s Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival got to witness such an event.

The Uniqueness Classic Championships was such a hit that people are still buzzing about it a year later. What was this magical event? It was simply the some of best skateboarders in the world putting on a show that rocked the Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival on that beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon.

Thousands stood in awe of the tricks the performers were able to do and applauded the amazing effort of these daredevils on wheels. It introduced many people of the older generation to the athleticism and showmanship that is professional skateboarding.

These are definitely not the wood planks and metal roller skate wheels of my generation. These are really amazing pieces of equipment and require more talent than what we had back then.

Then again, our kids know all about the sport of skateboarding but few get to join in with the pros as they put on their exhibitions.

For example, last year many of our local skateboarders participated right alongside the professionals and this year will be no exception. This year we have expanded the exhibition to Saturday and Sunday so more of our local kids can get involved and a have a great experience.

It seems that Mukilteo has many very talented boarders that could easily be just steps away from going professional. Be sure to come down and witness this event and root on our local kids as they show off their stuff alongside professionals such as Nick Madden (last year’s winner) and runner up, Luke Wesselberger among others.

“We are humbled to bring the Uniqueness Classic Championships to Mukilteo before we start our promotional world tour,” Uniqueness LLC’s CEO said. “Please join us and help us help these kids have something positive to be a part of and that they can share with their families for years to come.”

The show will feature Heiress and her partner Azia, performing their newly-created genre of music, Skate Trance, featuring songs from their album “Dogtown.”

The event will feature Bella supermodels showing off the latest fashions, and classic music to complement the event, free giveaways with everything from shirts, to energy Please watch for exact starting times of the event in future articles and publications or go to www.mukilteolighthousefestival.com for the times to be posted.

The festival is looking for someone that would like to sponsor this event. If you are a business owner and would like to get involved let us know at info@mukilteolighthousefestival.com.
