As children head off for their first day of school the need for good, clean clothes is larger than ever.  Clothes for Kids and Snohomish County urgently need your assistance. 

 

Clothes for Kids is a non-profit organization providing wardrobes for low-income families.  They are experiencing a dramatic increase in demand from our community. Without operating support and basic needs filled they are in danger of having to turn families away.

 

In the first week of operation this year Clothes for Kids has served over 500 children - a record number for the organization.  Last year the organization served more than 5200 children.  They have been fortunate to have very generous clothing donations this year.  Where they are struggling is in meeting the basic needs and funding the cost of operating their store front facility.

 

How can you contribute?  The biggest difference can be made through financial donations – big and small. These dollars go directly to cover the cost of providing critical needs and ensuring that the doors stay open.  

 

Their generous volunteers who provide over 8,500 volunteer hours annually help to keep our expenses at a minimum allowing the financial support from the community to directly benefit children in need.

With many families feeling the effects of this difficult economy, this trend will continue and likely increase.  With the winter season approaching people, specifically children, in our community deserve the opportunity to wear clothing, socks and shoes to help keep them warm.
