Curious Glass Studio, a new business in Mukilteo, is hosting a two-day grand opening on from 1-8 p.m. Sept. 11 and 12.

In addition to an opportunity to see art and meet the artists, the studio is hosting a tea tasting by Japanese teas importer Aaron Armstrong, who is knowledgeable about all teas.

The studio is a workspace and gallery for glass artist Rebecca Pool.  Pool has worked in glass for more than 40 years and specializes in lampworking sculptures and slumped and fused glass.

Much of the work in the studio focuses on custom pieces for the individual home, such as custom cabinet knobs and glass windowsill covers.

Pool also strives to introduce children to the world of art and to demonstrate that anyone can produce objects which are useful and beautiful.

The studio will be available to help produce fundraising projects for schools and groups with its traveling glass-art school.

The studio is featuring the original artwork of airbrush artist Shawn Unger, who has generously provided the studio with originals of the art for his first children’s book and will be selling prints of all of his work in the studio’s store.

The store will also be carrying Unger’s line of designer T-shirts, which are hand printed and colored.
Curious Glass Studio is located at 724 First St., Suite 200 in Mukilteo.  For more information, contact the studio at info@curiousglass.com.
